Google account hacking attempt through ‘Suspicious sign in prevented’ email

I received an email by 'Google' informing me about a suspicious sign-in attempt that they 'prevented'.

It's a great service but I became alert by the included button to access my account.

I didn't use that button but logged into my Google Account settings manually where you can control the devices and apps that are used for access.

There was NO matching alert message which proves that this seemingly supportive message from 'Google' is designed to steal my login info in disguise to protect just that.

Glad I fired up my inbox AFTER a strong coffee this morning or I might have given away my password and who knows what else in the process.

NEVER CLICK ANY LINK OR BUTTON in email messages that ask for account login. ALWAYS go to the provider's account login page manually and log in there.
